Succeed in your homemade manicure in 8 steps

Manicure is a beauty treatment to beautify the nails, but also the hands! It is entirely possible to do a home manicure, without a device, and just like in a salon. And to help you, the nail supply expert Maryton will give you a little easy manicure tutorial in 8 steps.

Step 1: Remove old varnish

First of all, if you ever wear nail polish, we remove it! Pour a few drops of nail polish remover onto a wipe and leave it on your nails for a few minutes, then you can slide it over and remove the remaining polish from your nails.

Step 2: File the nails

After washing your hands, determine the length of nails you prefer for you. Once the shape is chosen, file in the same direction, without going back and forth so as not to damage the nail.

Step 3: Soften the cuticles

Now it’s time to soak your fingers in warm water for 5-10 minutes. Warm water helps soften the cuticles and the small skin attached to the side of the nail. Then, use a cuticle pusher to gently push them back and peel off the little skin on the surface of the nail.

Step 4: Clean Nails

Now, you can take a small wooden stick that you gently slide under each of your nails to clean them. This mainly involves removing dirt and other small dust.

Step 5: Apply Base

Now that you have chosen your manicure style, it is time to apply the base. Important step, because it both protects the nail and prevents it from discoloring, and, at the same time, makes the varnish last longer.

Step 6: Apply Polish

Then comes the time to apply the varnish. Depending on the varnish, several coats are necessary. If you are applying several, first apply a thin first coat, then a second thicker one, allowing 10 minutes to dry between each coat.

Step 7: Apply a Top Coat

Your varnish applied, you must then protect it. To do this, apply your top coat which makes the varnish shine while improving its hold.

Step 8: Take care of your hands

Last step and not least: hand care. Before using a cream, you can make a scrub. Once the scrub is done, we then apply a cream or vegetable oil, and we spread, we spread, we spread. Depending on the cream chosen, it can nourish, hydrate or even protect the hands.
