Halloween 2016 Costumes Celebrities and It Girls Wore

Halloween is one of the funniest times of the year, especially when it comes to browsing through our favorite celebrities’ and it girls’ costume ideas. Thanks to the main social media channels, the latest Halloween costume challenges have been extremely thrilling, and this fictitious 2016 edition has been no less so. From politicians to Nineties-inspired characters, from spooky skeletons to vampires, here are the best halloween costumes 2016 our beloved celebrities, it girls and fashionistas wore this year!

The Spookiest Family

Whenever it comes to, well, every single ceremony and celebration, the Kardashians are the ones whose costume ideas are always the most anticipated. Full of creativity and accompanied by spectacular makeup artists’ help, who perfectly manage to realize what they have in mind, the Kardashians and Jenners’ Halloween 2016 costumes as showcased on their Instagram feeds are as inspirational as any Halloween-themed Pinterest board.

This time around, most of the Kardashians opted for classic womens halloween costumes, such as spooky skeletons and vampire brides, of course, revisited through their signature sensual lens.

Celebrate the Nineties At All Costs!

Although most of the Kardashians donned spooky Halloween costumes, one of the family’s youngest members revealed her Christina Aguilera side in the iconic Dirrty costume, receiving Aguilera’s seal of approval.

Of course, we are talking about Kylie Jenner, a.k.a. the Kardashian/Jenners’ member, who loves the Nineties most of all. Her Nineties/early 00s-inspired costume denotes one of the Halloween 2016 main tendencies, namely that of drawing inspiration from the grungiest decade of all.

Kelly Rowland, in fact, celebrated the Nineties too, as she wore a Dionne from the Clueless costume.

As for the most elegant, heroin chic Halloween look of the season, the award goes to model Martha Hunt, who channeled an utterly sophisticated Michel Pfeiffer in Scarface costume.

Legendary Halloween Costumes

When drawing inspiration from the past, one cannot avoid emulating iconic past personalities and films, such as Marilyn Monroe and Pulp Fiction. Tamron Hall and Willie Geist, who dressed up (and danced) as Uma Thurman and John Travolta, for example, celebrated the latter. Martha Stewart, on the other hand, channeled her best Marilyn Monroe side.

Vogue Japan fashion editor Giovanna Battaglia turned herself into Cher from the time, when she won her Oscar, while Victoria Justice gave Beetlejuice its most punk-rock makeover.

High five to Emily Ratajkowski too, who became an empowering Frida Kahlo just in time for Halloween.

Is Anyone Scared of the US Elections?

Easy to make and affordable, Katy Perry’s Hilary Clinton costume is one of the most ironic Halloween costumes of 2016 so far, as it really sets the bar higher for anyone who is willing to replicate her idea.

Stranger Costumes

As many of you had surely predicted, a lot of celebrities (and friends of yours) were thinking about a Stranger Things-inspired costume for Halloween 2016. Comedian and actress Amy Schumer is probably the one that drew inspiration from the Netflix TV series the best way, as she and her boyfriend perfectly recreated the character and metaphysically spooky atmosphere from The Stranger Things.

It Girl Chiara Ferragni also channeled a bloody Eleven, of course while holding a pack of Eggo.

Loving Couples Love Halloween

Amy Schumer was not the one who got a matching costume with her significant other. Many couples love to play the Halloween costume game together, always improving themselves (just think about Neil Patrick Harris and now husband’s costume timeline!)

This time around, in the ‘couple section’, we got Jordan Rodgers and Jojo Fletcher, who got romantically dressed up as their older selves, while Alyssa Milano just gave her husband and children a Pokemon-approved makeover.

Fairies, Unicorns and Sexy Bunnies

Although actually far from being scary, some of our favorite celebrities took the time to celebrate sexiness and magic at the same time.

Actress and ballerina Jenna Dewan, for instance, opted for a magical unicorn costume.

Elle Fanning, on the other hand, was a beautifully ethereal princess, while Modern Family’s Ariel Winter shut the many body-shamers down, who post disrespectful things on her Instagram account once again, just wearing a sensually naïve bunny costume.

She also reminded us that no matter what we do, the most important thing during Halloween is to have fun and celebrate our costumes (and bodies!).
